No one state is known as the Great Plains State.

Rather, there is an area in the United States known as the Great Plains, a sub-section of the Interior Plains.

States whose area covers parts of the Great Plains are known as Great Plains States. These states are Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.
