Primary Partitions are logical areas on Coputer storage devices that have direct reference in Master Boot Record. (Due to limitation imposed by MBR only four primary partitions can be created). While Extended partitions refer to logical areas created out of need for more than four Partitions.
primary partitions, extended partitions, and logical drives.
Primary partition is only one
No, it does not.
Volumes are storage areas, such as partitions and disks.
You are NOT limited to only two partitions in Windows 98. When you run FDISK, make a primary partition and then create an extended partition. Depending on the size of your hard drive and the size of the partitions you would like to create (without exceeding the 127G barrier, BIOS dependent) you may create as many partitions within the extended partition as you would like. After creating both the primary partition and the extended partitions you must reboot and then format each partition. Keep in mind that for every partition letter, Windows will use 8K of memory. You may want to edit your Config.sys file and change lastdrive=z to 2-3 letters beyond the drive letters assigned to your hard drive partitions, CD/ DVD drives and any flash drives or other removable storage you are using. It is rare that you would need 26 drive letters, so save yourself some system resources, especially since Windows 98 (SE) is limited to 512MB. Hope this helps.
flash drive
the another name for primary storage is main storage device.
Primary storages are volatile. An Example of primary storage : RAM whereas, Secondary storages are permanent. An Example of secondary storage : ROM
ram is primary storage
actually, we do not have to have partitions in a storage device. Partitions however do make it easier to organize some things. By analogy, imagine a warehouse without partitions. Hard drives in computers are often not partitioned, but partitioning can improve things. For example you could keep all your games in one partition, or all your documents and word processors in another. These then would be less likely to be trod upon when a new operating system is installed.
No. The secondary storage is typically slowerthan primary storage. But the secondary storage has higher capacity than primary storage.
