Depends on how far east you are and how far west you want to go.

Your best bet is probably to walk west to 28th and broadway, and catch the N or R to 57th St/7th Ave.

if you dont want to walk a few blocks, then you'll have to take a downtown 6 train to 14th street Union Square and transfer to an uptown N Q or R train to 57th St/7th Ave.

You could also take the Uptown 6 (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line) from 28th Street (at Park Avenue South) to 51st Street, and transfer at 51st Street to the Downtown E(of the A-C-E, the blue line). The 51st Street Station on the 6 is connected to the 53rd Street-Lexington Avenue Station on the E.

Take the Downtown E to 50th Street, and transfer at 50th Street to the Uptown C, one stop, to 59th Street-Columbus Circle (at 8th Avenue).

What subway do you take from Penn Station to the New York Athletic Club?

Take the Uptown A or C trains (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to 59th Street-Columbus Circle (at the corner of 8th Avenue and 59th Street, aka Central Park West and Central Park South). The New York Athletic Club is at 180 Central Park South, between 7th and 6th Avenues but near the corner of 7th. So walk one block east on 59th Street/Central Park South to 7th Avenue, cross the street, and 180 should be right there.

What subway do you take from Penn Station to Sutton Place?

Take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line) or the Uptown A-C-E (the blue line) ONE STOP, from Penn Station (West 34th Street) to Times Square (West 42nd Street). At the Times Square Station, transfer to the S shuttle train (color code grey) east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central Station (East 42nd).At Grand Central, transfer to the Uptown 4 or 6 trains(of the 4-5-6, the dark green line). Take the Uptown 4 or 6 trains to 59th Street. The 5 train doesn't always stop at 59th Street, so you should probably not take it, just in case. Take only the 4 or the 6. The 4 is an express train, so 59th Street will be the next stop after 42nd Street (Grand Central). The 6 is a local train, so 59th Street will be 2 stops after 42nd.You will get off the train on the east side of Lexington Avenue, at 59th Street. Walk east on 59th Street until you get to York Avenue. Sutton Place is actually the same street as York Avenue. Sutton Place is the two-block stretch of York Avenue from 57th to 59th Street. Sutton Place South is York Avenue, from 53rd to 57th.See the Related Link below for a complete New York City subway map.

Where is the Yorkville area of Manhattan?

Yorkville, like Sutton Place and Carnegie Hill, is a sub-neighborhood of the Upper East Side. It runs west to east from 3rd Avenue to the East River, and north to south from 96th Street to 86th Street, 72nd Street or 59th Street (depending on who you ask). Most of Manhattan's neighborhoods and sub-neighborhoods do not have precise boundaries, and Yorkville is no exception. The Upper East Side runs south/north from 59th Street to 96th Street, and west/east from 5th Avenue to the East River. It is one of the few Manhattan neighborhoods that DOES have precise boundaries.

What is the estimated time to go from John F. Kennedy to Manhattan's Upper East Side by subway?

It would probably take an hour and a half to two hours. First you'd take the shuttle (called the AirTrain) from JFK to the Howard Beach Station of the A train (of the A-C-E, the blue line). From the Howard Beach Station to the 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station is over an hour. After you get off the A train at 42nd Street-Port Authority, you'll need to walk through the tunnel that connects the 42nd Street-Port Authority Station to the 42nd Street-Times Square Station. At the Times Square Station, you'd get on the S shuttle train (color code grey) east across 42nd Street, from Times Square (West 42nd) to Grand Central Station (East 42nd).Then at Grand Central Station, you'd transfer to the Uptown 4-5-6 (the dark green line) to the Upper East Side. The 4 and 5 are express trains: they go from 42nd Street-Grand Central ---> 59th Street ---> 86th Street ---> 125th Street. Since the Upper East Side runs from 59th Street to 96th Street, you'd have to get off at 59th or 86th Street if you take the 4 or 5.The 6 is a local train, so it stops at: 42nd Street-Grand Central ---> 51st Street ---> 59th Street ---> 68th Street-Hunter College ---> 77th Street ---> 86th Street ---> 96th Street.

How do you get from Grand Central Station to Staten Island Ferry?

Well, that depends on where you're coming from, and the method of transportation you want to use.Central Park runs south to north from 59th Street to 110th Street, and west to east from Central Park West (8th Avenue) to 5th Avenue. Both the C train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) and the B train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) make local stops up and down Central Park West, which forms the western border of the park. You can get off at 59th Street-Columbus Circle, 72nd Street, 81st Street, 86th Street, 96th Street and 103rd Street. The A and D trains also run up and down Central Park West, but they are express trains, and run directly from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street. Remember, Central Park runs south to north from 59th Street to 110th Street. So if you take the A or D trains, you must get off at 59th Street (or, take the A or D to 59th and then transfer to the C or B).There is no subway line running up and down Fifth Avenue, which is the eastern border of the park. The only subway line currently running up and down the Upper East Side is the 4-5-6, at Lexington Avenue, three avenue blocks east of Fifth. So it's not like the West Side, where the subway makes local stops all the way up and down the length of the park.Three avenue blocks is not a long walk, though, so you can take the 4 or 5 express trains to 59th or 86th and Lexington, or you can take the 6 local train to 59th Street, 68th Street-Hunter College, 77th Street, 86th Street, 96th Street or 103rd Street and Lexington.Or, you can take the N, R or Q trains (of the N-R-Q-W, the yellow line) to 59th Street and 5th Avenue, which is the southeast corner of the park. Or, you can take the Q train (only the Q train) to 57th Street and 7th Avenue. Then it's just two blocks straight north to Central Park South, at 59th Street. You can also take the F train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) to 57th Street and 6th Avenue (one avenue block east of the 57th Street stop on the Q train) and then again, it's two blocks straight north to Central Park South.OR, you can take the 1 train (of the 1-2-3, the red line) to 110th Street (Central Park North) and enter on the north end of the park.As for buses, you can take the m10 up Central Park West. On the East Side, you can take the m1, m2 or m4 up Madison Avenue (one block east of Fifth) or down Fifth Avenue. You can also take the m2 or m4 to Central Park North. Or, you can take the m5 or m7 to Central Park South.See the Related Links below for subway and bus maps.
