For one, the Comet is a tank and the M-18 Hellcat is a tank destroyer, not a tank... there is a difference. The Comet was a British tank, the M-18 an American model. The Comet has a larger gun, caliber wise, only by one millimeter, however, but with a much greater muzzle velocity. The M-18 was made by Buick, and was the fastest tracked vehicle in WWII. The Hellcat used torsion bar suspension while the Comet had the Christie type. The Comet had a speed limiter to prevent it being driven above 32 mph (otherwise 40 mph would have been possible) to reduce wear on the running gear. The Comet tank was well protected with thick armour. The Hellcat tank destroyer, like other tank destroyers, had thinner armour and relied on speed.
The Hellcat
m-18 hellcat, 88kmh Technically speaking, the M18 Hellcat was not a tank. It was a self-propelled anti-tank artillery piece, known commonly if somewat incorrectly as a tank destroyer. Whatever its speed, it had armor resistant only to small arms and frags, but nothing more. And for the gun crew there was no armor except for their M1 steel helmets to protect against German shells bursting above them. The M3 Stuart is the fastest tank of World War that I know of, 58 kph. Yes, 30kph slower than above-claimed speed of the Hellcat, but the Stuart was a real tank, whereas the Hellcat was not.
The A6M had the longest range (nearly 2,000 miles), so the Hellcat could run out of gas and crash into the sea if the pilot is inexperienced. That aside, Grumman designed the F6F specifically to kill the A6M Zero. The Hellcat had 6 fiftys and was built like a tank! It had the horse power and speed of an assassin. The Hellcat would kill the A6M, unless the Zero had a good pilot (like Sakai).
The Tiger 1 tank has a crew of 5, I know this because of a book called Tanks inside out. (The Tiger 2 or King Tiger also has a crew of 5)
the tiger tank was one of the Germans most heavily armoured tanks
the tiger 1 was a really great tank. Tank commanders like Erwin Rommel used tigers. on the other hand the armor of the king tiger was used to reflect or ricochet shells all that armor made the tank heavier. The tiger was formed during the Battle of Kursk, when the germans were trying to figure out a way to protect their flak 88s while setting them up. They put armor around the 88 which formed the tiger. My tank would be the tiger its faster more powerful and more armor. The king tigers were rarely used after the battle of Remagen.
There is only one tank named the Tiger and that's the Panzer 6, the biggest panzer was the Panzer 8 Maus
well im not too sure but i would say it would be the tiger tank
Basically, in 1942, the Germans knew they needed a tank to put a fast end to the war, so thye started production on a powerful tank that would be able to destroy any Russian or American tank. The purpose of the tiger tank was for Germany to have the best tank in the world that couldn't be stopped.
There was only two tigers, the tiger 1, which was very powerful and armourd but slow. The king tiger, twice the power and armore, but was twice as slow. The Tiger 1 and Tiger 2 had the same top road speed. Go to Wikipedia for more info.
Yes, there is a working Tiger 1 at the Tank Museum at Bovington, England.
