Actually Spanish influence is quite strong in more that three states! Florida has a tremendous number of Cuban refugees and as a result of so many Spanish speaking people a number of other Spanish speakers are there.
Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California border Mexico. All have large groups of Spanish speaking people. Lastly, New York has a large Spanish speaking population. It is possible to walk through parts of New Rochelle and not hear a word of English. Adios!
