If you're just getting started in driving, I'd advise against going to such a company. What you learn about shifting in truck driving school does not make you proficient at shifting. If you start off with a company like US Xpress (which is a perfectly fine company to work for, don't get me wrong), then decide you want to work elsewhere, and that elsewhere doesn't use automatic transmissions, you're going to find yourself left wanting.
