Proton and Neutron
OK, in very very round figures, but the neutron actually is more massive.
Protons and neutrons have about the same mass, with the neutron being slightly more massive.
neutron and proton
an alpha particle
Virtually all of the mass of an atom is carried by the proton and the neutron. The electron has very, very little mass relative to these two particles.
An alpha particle is a positively charged nuclear particle consisting of two protons bound to two neutrons. The atomic number of an atom decreases by 2 and the mass number decreases by approximately 4 when an alpha particle is ejected.
An alpha particle is composed of two protons and two neutrons, so when an atom loses an alpha particle, its mass number decreases by four. However, since the atom loses two protons, it is now a different element. It is now the element with an atomic number minus the two protons.
Mass number is defined as the number of nucleons present in the nucleus. Alpha particle is nothing but the doubly ionized helium atom or the nucleus of helium atom. Nucleon is the common name both for proton and neutron. Helium nucleus has two protons and two neutrons. So the number of nucleons within it is 4. Hence mass number is 4.

Protons and neutrons.
An alpha particle is two protons and two neutrons (same as a Helium nucleus) so when a nucleus ejects an alpha it will defintely have less mass. Also it will be a new element because it has two less protons.

an alpha particle is made of two protons and 2 neutrons. its basically the same as the nucleus of a helium atom
An alpha particle is a helium nucleus. It consists of two protons and two neutrons so it has mass (approximately the same as the mass of a helium atom) and charge (a plus two charge because each proton has a charge of plus one and the neutrons are not charged).

An alpha particle is a helium-4 nucleus. When it captures a pair of electrons, it becomes a helium-4 atom. Alpha particles released in nuclear decay events quickly pick up a pair of electrons from the environment and become those helium atoms, and the atom is said to be electrically neutral.
