What is the safest way to move your horse?
The safest way to move a horse depends on where your moving it to - if you are just moving your horse to another stall or a paddock, just fasten on a lead - rein onto the horses halter and away you go. If you are moving the horse in a trailer, it is easiest to take a horse blanket with a hood and fasten it on the horses, attach the lead - rein to the halter or harness, and thread the rein through a loop or notch on the trailer wall. Don't forget to put on the special, protective horse boots if your horse gets frightened easily!

Well when the horse was a baby you should have kept a halter on a few days after he was born to get used to it. If you did not do that than you can get a halter and put it on loose so that it is not hurting him/her but tight enough so they cant rip it off. when the horse gets used to that then you can clip a lead rope to his halter and ask for a walk and it will take time but if the horse is still a baby it will take less time then a matured horse

By walking horse I assume you mean the Tennessee Walking horse. I find that my TWH (and many other horses of other breeds) prefer bitless bridles, but bosals aren't good for walking horses because of their head action. The bottom tends to come up and hit them when they move their head, or so I've heard. I ride in a halter, and you can also get the Bitless Bridle. But other than the bosal, Walking horses will go in anything. If I have to have a bit I prefer a snaffle because it's so gentle, and the horses seem to like it better too.

At a stretch, yes. It's not safe and certainly not recommended, but if you're desperate a shirt would work fine. Just slip it around the horses neck up by the head and gently hold it. A hand on the horses nose to guide the horse is also useful when leading this way, especially seeing you would have little control.

Bridling a horse is a lot harder than putting a halter on, and some horses may react badly if they are not trained to accept a bridle. You or the horse may be hurt, and the bridle may be damaged. Less is usually best. depends on how good your roping skills are, i would suggest to bring along a bridle and lead so once you have caught the horse, you can put it on and lead your horse.
