While changing my oil filter I noticed that the fitting was cross threaded after I snapped it there's about one third of the bolt left is there anything I can do to avoid buying an entire new oil pan?

you just need to get an oil filter adapter, where it snapped off theres 2 bolts take them off go to the autoparts store get a new one and replace , costs about 30 dollars.
thanks. so i don't need to take the oil pan off? the bolts are right around the broken adapter? i have a '97 sebring.

I just did this and I noticed 2 things. The frist was while adding the A/C coolant the fitting was not fully secure so I noticed some of the additive came out. So I had to actually put presure on the fitting from the can so I could see no leak. This worked and imediately I had cold air. And if you are sure you lost none and you would know cause you can see the leaks until you press down on the fitting, check your compressor. If while adding you see any leaking you will still have hot air..
