The Soviet Union (USSR) divided Poland with Germany.
The Germans staged a fake raid by "Poles" on a German radio station to provide themselves with an excuse to invade Poland (which they secretly agreed to divide with Russia). France declared war on Germany because they had a pact with Poland and England followed suit when Germany attacked France through Belgium and the war was on.
The pact also secretly agreed to divide Poland and other parts of eastern Europe between the two powers.

divide themselves
The Nazi-Soviet nonaggression treaty contained a secret deal between Germany and the Soviet Union to divide Poland between them.
Divide up Poland
* Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin agreed to form a United Nations * How to divide up Berlin between the Allies * Stalin agreed to enter war against Japan when Germany was defeated * Free elections in Poland
The United States did not trust the USSR because of the fact that they did not defend them during the World War 2 with Japan and the battle of Iwo Jima. They also agreed to the non-agression pact with Germany, specicifally Hitler, and in an agreement to not attck each other, they would divide Poland among themselves.

USSR. Stalin and Hitler signed a pact in order to divide Poland.
Prior to Germany's invasion of Poland in 1939, Germany and the Soviet Union signed a Non-Aggression Pact that formally decided upon several agreements between the two previously hostile nations. For one thing, it laid out a partition of Poland, contingent upon a successful invasion by German forces (which would be complemented by Soviet forces after certain conditions were met). For another thing, it delineated zones of influence throughout Eastern Europe for each power. It also included various economic trade-agreements. The secret clause in the treaty spelled out how the Soviets should take over the eastern half of Poland as Germany attacked the Poles from the west.
