The Los Ninos Heroes, or "heroic children", were a group of cadets during the Mexican War. Although the Mexican army retreated when the Americans attacked, it is said that these six boys (all under 19) stayed to fight for their country. What these boys did has yet to be proved, but, either way there is still a monument in their honor.
