How were Nebuchadnezzar and Hammurabi alike and different?
From 688 B.C. to 627 B.C., the Assyrian Empire was at its
largest and most powerful under King Ashurbanipal. During his
reign, the Assrians controlled nearly all of the Fertile Cresent.
After 627 B.C. Babylon again began to expand its inflence and
wealth. In 605 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar 2 was crowned king of Babylon.
He took over much of the former Assyrian Empire and the desert land
west of Babylon.
