Pagans have a great many pantheons, most of them had gods, goddesses, or spirits that were associated with mining.

The Roman god Pluto, the Greek god Hades, The Rainbow Serpent from the Australian Aboriginals, were all associated with mines and mining to various degrees.

Hathor the Egyptian goddess was the patron goddess of miners.

Gnomes, and dwarves are mythical beings also with mining.
