Generally speaking, they are called monks. However, in many places, there are householders who preach as well. They have different names according to the country and the tradition.
if you refer to Catholic monks, they are called the Order of Preachers. Noted congregations to these are Franciscans and Dominicans....
You don't need a license to preach in America. That's usually church denomination related.
The different forms are based on historical linguistic patterns rather than logical consistency. "Teach" and "preach" come from Old English verbs that ended in -ician, which evolved into -ch in Middle English. "Fing" is not a word with a historical etymology, so we don't use it for the action of fingers.
Depends on the preacher. Some preachers might preach for attention or popularity, which is never right. The purpose of preachers (who arent fake) is to be used by and let God speak through them, sometimes for a whole congregation to hear something that God has wanted them to hear, or maybe just a single person.
There are no women preachers mentioned in the bible , even though ladies did believe in Jesus like Mary Magdalene, Martha, Mary , Lydia and so on. But PAUL VERY clearly said in the book of Titus , that ladies should notbe allowed to preach the word.
Catholics and orthodox Christians have many levels of their clergy, those who preach are called priests other denominations will call the preachers by either preacher or pastor
Roman Catholic AnswerI can only hazard a guess, as I do not know of this practice. I should think that, since all Catholic doctrine is truth, and it is grounded in Sacred Scripture, that any sincere person, with an open mind would come to know the truth when studying Sacred Scripture, and subseqently preach it as well. There have been numerous incidents of rather famous protestant preachers and ministers who, upon study and prayer, have left their denominations and converted to the Church.
You do not need either a license or a church in order to preach; in America you have a constitutionally protected right to free speech as well as freedom of religion, so if you have something to preach, go ahead.
