commanded the daring raid that burned the captured frigate Philadelphia in Tripoli Harbor and later led gunboat boarding actions against the Barbary corsairs.
Since ancient times, marines were soldiers carried on warships for boarding. By the time of the American Revolution, British warships had Royal Marines for boarding, and for preventing mutinies, so the Continental Navy had them too. The Continental Marines became the United States Marines, and later they became corps-strength. Boarding actions are unlikely now, and mutinies are less of a possibility, but countries with navies still have marines for amphibious operations. The United States has the most (200,000).
The American five-star General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur, commanded the United Nations forces during the Korean War. MacArthur was sacked and relieved of duty in a controversial move by the Truman Administration. MacArthur actions and potential intentions in escalating the War into the People's Republic of China were seen as threatening civilian control of the military.

There are two classifications of human acts. These are the elicited acts and the commanded acts. Elicited acts are the actions done by will alone. Commanded acts are those involving both body and mind.

Yes. A 17 year old is still a minor and the parents or guardians are responsible for his/her actions.
From my experience, attending a boarding school in senior year is great! The most important lesson I got from my three year experience in a boarding school is that we get to be independent and learn how not to rely on others all the time to solve our problems. From that I also have more self confidence knowing the fact that I have lived 3 years of my life away from my parents. Next time I would already be used to it. The choice is yours actually, and your choice whether you will attend boarding school or not should also be approved by your parents. Often people that attend boarding school without permission by their parents end up doing badly at school. If you've got the permission, you have confidence that you can stay away from your parents, you are confident that you can solve your own problems (don't rely on friends all the time), and that you promise you will be responsible of your actions while at boarding school, then why not? Go for it! I am Mita, I want to say you that boarding life is just amazing. I also agree with RosaMistica that attending a boarding school we get to be independent and responsible that we can face any any challenge effectively. Also, in boarding schools we we will meet people from other backgrounds and we will learn that how to interact with them. I also studied in boarding school and I have got great experience over there. I think you should go for baording school.
