Japan and Italy were on the Axis side with Germany. Germany and led by the nazi party and Italy was a Fascist country and Japan had a Military Government. They all wanted to take ofer the world.

World War Two started in 1939 when Adolf Hitler began taking over countries. World War Two ended in 1945 after the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in Japan. Interestingly, there wasn't an "official" end to World War Two until 1990, when a certain document was signed that officially concluded the hostilities between the countries that fought in World War Two. This is because when Japan unconditionally surrendered, "ending" the war, no treaty was signed that officially ended the war. The countries simply stopped fighting.
The United States was fighting on two sides. On one side they were fighting Germany, and on the other side they were fighting Japan. It technically was the same war but they call it two seperate ones because they happened on opposite sides of the United States.

Actually they bombed Hawaii. The reason is that the Americans stopped all trade with Japan because they were on the Axis side. Japan replied with the bombing of Pearl Harbor. In return the Americans dropped two atom bombs on them, ending the war for good.
