Henry VIII's brother Arthur, Prince of Wales, married Catherine of Aragon, a Princess of Spain. Arthur died of the sweat before he became king, making Henry the only heir to his father's throne. Henry fell in love with the widowed Catherine, and decided to marry her himself, and so she became his first queen.
