As far as I know Julie Andrews was the only actress considered. Mary Martin played such diverse roles as Peter Pan ( title character!) South Pacific, and the stage version of The Sound of Music, none of these being Disney productions, though Disney must have done Cartoons on the Peter Pan theme.
