Jesus Christ
All British Monarchs are Church of England (Anglican protestants). The British Monarch is by law the head of the Church of England.
Not much specifically, the Catholic Church has always prayed that all protestants would return to the Church that Jesus Christ founded for their salvation.
Protestants are called protestants because they PROTESTED against the catholic church because Henry viii was catholic but he wanted a divorce but the catholics would not let him, so he started his own church( church of England) and they were called the protestants, also you can not be protestant and catholic.
Because they protested against the Catholic church.
Queen Elizabeth II is head of the Church of England only. Jesus Christ is the head of the Christian church. Protestants have broken off into many many different groups. Some have appointed a leader to be in charge of their denomination and other smaller churches are independent.
The Catholic Church
Protestants.
Technically, yes, as the pope is theoretically the head of the entire Church. However, Protestants do not recognize the pope as their leader.
Henry VIII, when he split from Rome and declared himself Head of the Church of England. Presumably he was influenced by Protestants in England at the time when determining the policies of his new denomination.
Their differences are their religious culture. Catholics are often nationalists in that they want Ireland to become one state Protestants are often unionists in that they want to remain apart of the United Kingdom. Catholics believe that the English monarch who are protestant oppressed them Protestants have the same religion as the monarch and therefore believe that the the British monarch is good. Catholics see the Pope as head of their church Protestants see the Queen as head of their church. However many protestants prefer to call the Queen as leader of their church with God being the head of the Church. Catholics see the tri-colour flag as their flag Protestants see the union flag as their flag
