Not of them did. The history of electricity goes back more than two thousand years, to the time the Ancient Greeks discovered that rubbing fur on amber caused an attraction between the two. By the 17th century, many electricity-related discoveries had been made, such as the invention of an early electrostatic generator, the differentiation between positive and negative currents, and the classification of materials as conductors or insulators. In the year 1600, English physician William Gilbert conned the term electric, from the Greek elektron, to identify the force that certain substances exert when rubbed against each other. Tesla was who discovered that current had alternate charachetristics and made inventions based on this.
Neither. The ancient Greeks knew about electricity - Thales of Miletus in 600 BCE discovered that he could produce electrical sparks by rubbing amber with a cloth. Not much more was learned about it for the next 2000 years, till about 1745, when the Leyden jar, a device that can store static electricity, was invented by Pieter van Musschenbroek. Two years later William Watson discovered the concepts of "electric current" and "electric circuit", which were crucial to the development of useful machines using electricity.
The greatest breakthroughs in the understanding of electricity were by Michael Faraday. He discovered that moving discovered that moving a magnet back and forth inside a wire coil could produce ("generate") electricity. From that, he was able to build the first electric motor. (A motor is a machine that turns energy into motion; otherwise, the energy isn't productive.) Faraday also built a generator and a transformer.
The only contribution Benjamin Franklin made to our understanding of electricity is proving in 1752 with his experiment using a kite and a key that lightning was electrical energy.
Thomas Edison did not make any discoveries about the nature of electricity, but he transformed our lives more than any other single person in history by inventing many things that used electricity to make our lives better, such as the first practical electrical light bulb, and machines for recording and playing music and movies. So that people could use all these inventions easily, Edison came up with the idea of generating large amounts of electrical power and distributing it by wires to homes and businesses.
He did not invent electricity. He just wanted to prove that lightening had electric currents in it. Supposedly though when he did the experiment his son was with him
He proved that lighting is made up of electricity.
First of all Thomas Edison did not discover electricity. He discovered the light bulb! Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity you dumb head, and that was in 1752. >:(
The ancient Greeks discovered electricity in 600 BC
Benjamin Franklin did not invent the lightning bulb? He did however discover electricity May 10th 1752. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1879.
Benjamin Franklin created electricity by using a kite and a pole. Don't get him confused with Thomas Edison who created the light bulb. People do that often. This is how he contributed to the new world.
Benjamin Franklin did not invent the light bulb. He conducted experiments with electricity. Thomas Edison was the inventor of the light bulb. However, as with most inventions, Edison built upon the work of others.

Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity when he tied a key to his kite and flew the kite in a thunderstorm.

well, oil lamps cause fires in wood houses, electricity had been discovered, not invented, discovered by Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Edison invented a light source to benefit from it
He didn't invent electricity, but a means to use it with things like the light bulb that differed from his closest competitor Tesla. No one invented electricity. Electricity was there all along in nature. Benjamin Franklin discovered that lightening was electricity.

Thomas Edison is credited with building the first electric light bulb. Benjamin Franklin is also famous for his experiments involving electricity.
Albert Edison is the one who discovered electricity.
