He as well is a Son of Adam like us all. There is a common canard among Anti-Shiite Sunni Muslims that says that Shiites worship Ali. This is not actually the case, the Shiites hold Ali in reverence as the appointed follower of Mohammed to rule the Muslim community and his lifelong piety.
