People who suffer from eating disorders can talk to many people. For help, they can talk to mental help therapists and / or doctors. For support, they can talk to friends, family, and support groups of others who suffer from eating disorders like they do.

You won't really know if you have an eating disorder. The only way you could tell was to talk to about it to your doctor or someone who knows about eating habits. If your eating something and you don't feel hungry then your just eating out of habit. It's not a good habit so try breaking it!

Can you have an eating disorder without knowing trying to?

Can you have an eating disorder without knowing: yes Can you have an eating disorder without trying: yes Eating disorders are mental illnesses, not weight-loss aids, people don't develop an eating disorder on purpose. Often they won't know or believe that they are ill, which makes them difficult to treat. I don't know if this is what you were asking, the question is quite vague. So if this doesn't answer your question feel free to clarify.

Dating someone with an eating disorder?

Don't let the fact that they have an eating disorder turn you off. You just need to let them know that they are perfect just they way they are, they may tell you that they don't believe you or that your only lying, it doesn't matter just keep telling them, you just really need to mean it. And let them know that you do. And if it gets too serious you need to tell someone because it can become fatal.

How can you help someone suffering from an eating disorder?

Just let them know that you love them and that you are there for them no matter what. Never get angry or yell at the person, they are just as frustrated as you are. Read about eating disorders so you can better understand them. It will make being supportive a lot easier.

The best thing you can do for someone you suspect may have an eating disorder is to ignore the problem?

No, no eating disorder of any kind should be ignored (whether it be weight loss or weight gain). The person must be addressed about any concerns friends or family may have. The problem may be deeper than that, and the person will need support, perhaps even therapy. If the person is being ignored and they're serious about proceeding with the eating disorder, then you know the person is in real danger. Either way it should be addressed.

What is a good eating plan for someone suffering frim anorexia nervosa?

Someone who is suffering from Anorexia Nervosa really should be under medical supervision. Depending on how bad the eating disorder is, the BMI of the individual and the length of the self-starvation, starting to eat 'normal' could very well shock the body and actually be very harmful. It might be a good idea (aside from a general doctor) for the individual suffering from the eating disorder to see a nutritionist/dietitian. Many of them specialize in eating disorder meal plans, and because of that, they know how to slowly increase food intake without overwhelming the individual too much. (It is a scary thing and shouldn't be discounted.) Hope this helps. :)

Signs of an eating disorder?

To know if a person has an eating disorder, he or she might be picky about their food and would not eat certain foods under any circumstances. He or she probably will get uptight about the discussion of food. Also, if it is ever asked whether he or she HAS an eating disorder, he or she will probably deny it, as he or she will not want to be helped. Sometimes that person will starve him/herself, or will overeat constantly. There are many different types of eating disorders, and many different signs depending on the type.
