Egej is the region of Greece under Greek occupation since the London treaty ( after the 1st Balkan war ) , Bucharest treaty ( after the second Balkan war ) & Versailles treaty ( after WW1 ) . Historically the region had always been part of the Kingdom of Macedon ( from 10000bc until 365bc when the Roman Empire conquered it ) . Greece never even had a claim on the territory until they made the first claims of 'Greater Greece' in the late 19th century. This territory consisted of Egej , ( Macedonian ) , Iperos ( Albanian ) Thrace (claimed by Thracians - who were declining in numbers and were massacred by the Greeks in 1918-20 - , Turkey & Bulgaria ) , Cyprus ( Turkish but occupied by the British Empire from 1918 ) & Turkey minus Kurdish claimed regions ( Which They failed to take ) .
