It depends on how this is meant. The Philistines made repeated incursions into territory held by the Ancient Israelites and were repulsed by a number of Israelite monarchs. The Bible argues that King David was among the most successful of these. However, the Philistines never completely left the southwest Levant (simply becoming Roman citizens) and some current Israeli cities, like Ashqelon and Ashdod, are built on former Philistine territory.
David
King David.
Saul. Saul (chosen for his military leadership) was drove out of the Philistines.
It was the Lord God of Israel who helped the Philistines when they attacked Judah. Judah was in Israel at that time, and when the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served other Gods, the Lord was angry against Israel and sold them into the hands of the Philistines. (Judges 10,6,7)
Samson was a Nazirite from birth; consecrated to God. The Lord used him to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines; God empowered him with supernatural strength to commence Israel's deliverance from the Philistines.
The Philistines took advantage of early Israelite disunity by waging attacks and raids on Israelite villages. This pillaging was quite common until the Israelites formed a United Kingdom and actively engaged the Philistines in war. After that point, the Philistines were more of a nuisance than an actual problem. It was the Assyrians who eventually conquered Israel, not the Philistines.

The main enemies of Israel at that period were the Philistines.
In the old testament they were called the Philistines.
samson :) lol your welcome
Samson lived in the latter part of the time of the judges. Samson was a judge. (not a judge like we have today, but a judge in that time period delivered Israel out of the hand of their enemies and brought them closer to God.) We are told in Judges 16:4b "....... that He (God) was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. For at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel". God raised up Samson to incite war against the Philistines. The Philistines had taken over parts of Israel and were treating the people very badly. God wanted this to stop. Samson was the first Judge to encounter the Philistines. It was not until the time of David that the Philistines were defeated badly enough to stop being a power against Israel. Samson's basic area of war against the Philistines was Zorah, which was in the territory of the Tribe of Dan. If you will recall it was David as a lad before he became King who took his sling and 5 smooth pebbles (Rocks) and put one between the eyes of Goliath who was a mercenary of the Philistines.
