President Obama did that. Only the Commander in Chief can start a war (with the consent of Congress), and only the Commander in Chief can end it. Since Mitt Romney was not the president, he could not end any war, nor could he start one. Mr. Obama promised as a candidate in 2008 that he would end the war in Iraq if he was elected. He kept his promise.
Yes it has. When President Obama was a candidate in 2008, he promised that if elected, he would end America's involvement in Iraq and bring the majority of the troops home. When he became president, that is exactly what he did.
Iraq is not at war with any other country at this point. However, the governmental forces and Army of Iraq are dealing with various Sunni and Shi'a Militant Groups inside the country with the assistance of the Kurdish Peshmerga.
Sanctions against Iraq ended in 2003.
Bush, Obama, and Old and moldy W. Bush :(
No, he did not. President Obama had promised to withdraw troops and end the Iraq War; but he was also willing to leave a residual force in Iraq. Unfortunately, the new leader of Iraq at that time, Nouri Al Maliki, did not want American troops there, and no agreement was reached to keep them there. Therefore, no residual force was left in Iraq in 2011 when US troops came home.
Turning the US auto-industry and ending the war in Iraq are some of the accomplishments of the administration of Barack Obama.
Barack Obama, as Commander-in-Chief, withdrew all American forces from Iraq in December of 2011.
He was the first African American President, and he ended the war in Iraq, except for the peacekeepers.
Barack Obama does not like the war.
he pulled out all the troops from iraq so there wouldn't be a war anymore
Obama wants to make peace with Iraq so there is no more war
He ended the War in Iraq, but not in Afghanistan.
Would everybody get over the false "Obama's is from the middle east thing"
He ended the war in Iraq.
Senator Barack Obama was not elected until 2004. The US-led invasion of Iraq began in 2003, and he was therefore not in office during that time.
Moving forward with a responsible drawdown of our combat forces, transferring security to Iraq's forces. And then move to Afghanistan.
Mitt Romney had nothing to do with US War in Iraq. He was not a federal politician at the time the Iraq War was declared nor did he have any federal involvement when President Obama withdrew the troops from Iraq. Furthermore, he was opposed to "ending the conflict prematurely" when he was asked about during the 2008 primaries.
