The Cape of Good Hope is currently located in the Republic of South Africa. It was initially inhabited by the Khoi-San people. Later it was taken over by the Dutch settlers who established the Cape Colony. It was then incorporated into the Union of South Africa as the Cape of Good Hope Province. Finally it was incorporated into the present day Republic of South Africa.
