Life was extremely hard and unfair to the people building the great wall of china. People were forced to work and were ordered by soldiers to do things and had no choice or freedom.They were poorly fed and many starved to death. When someone died they would be buried within the wall making it the worlds largest grave yard. The people that contributed to the building included peasants, farmers and soldiers.

Many people died during it's construction. Mostly peasants had they most dangerous jobs. They were expendable. The government dragged people from their homes and treated them like slaves. Poorly fed and cared for, if they became a liability, the soldiers would shoot them, push them off the wall to fall to their death or leave them in the wilderness to likely die. Families were ripped apart and mothers were left to fend for their children. If you were big enough to work, this could mean even 12 and 13 year old children, then they took you. You worked until you had nothing else to give and then they did whatever was most expedient to the cause; which did not include taking you back to where the took you from. China is a huge country. It was a tragedy how this wall was built, thus the great wall of tears.
