Both the landbridge theories are parallelled by a coastal fishing theory which sees coastal fishermen following fish along the edge of the ice or landbridge without using the land.

And then came countries such as the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Russia, etc. Other countries sent explorers that didn't claim land, or did claim land but these colonies were short lived. These include countries such as Sweden.
