Not counting the people who lived in England in the prehistoric age, whose origin is not known, we can say that the first people to settle permanently in that country were the Iberians.
They came in crossing the English Channel aboard of leather coated rafts and/or leather canoes, probably landing on the Sussex or Kent coast and consolidated their conquest presumably within a short time as they probably outnumbered the native. They learnt to exploit the Cornwall's mines of tin, the copper and lead mines in the Wales, the gold resources in the Northwest, the pearls of the Irish Sea.
They became experts blacksmiths, armours and potters.
Maiden Castle and the Stonehenge complex , two huge patterns of military and religious engineering ability were built by them.
Furthermore they was able to learn how to build the flat long war galley. Unable to give to the country a central leading power, they remained divided in independent tribes, with the defaults that this way implied.
