What symbol represents Perseus?

i mean there arent really any good symbols... i have a project on Perseus and i have to find the same thing. im just gunna have to say Pegasus because it emerged from Medusa after Perseus slayed her. so i would give that a shot.. * * I would say the winged shoes Persues borrows from Hermes represented freedom because Perseus was free of his quest when he finally fled from the Gorgon Medusa's sisters, or you could also say that the helmet of invisability symbolized the same thing for the same reason....... I don't know, this is a difficult question... All of the answers above (pegasus, winged sandals, and the helmet of darkness) are correct and there is also a few more. There is the Gorgon, Medusa'a head. There is the golden shield that Athena gave to him so he could see the reflection of Medusa so he wouldn't be turned to stone by her glance. There is the magical bag that Hermes gave to him when he gave him the sandals so he could keep Medusa's head in it. And lastly, there is the magical sword that Athena gave to him that wouldn't break when it hit the gorgon's tough skin.

What superhero powers does Perseus have?

The thing is: he did not personally have any superpowers. When he was sent to kill Medusa, he borrowed a shield and sword from Athena, winged sandals from Hermes, invisibility hat from Hades. Having killed Medusa, he put her head in a bag. He could then produce this head and direct her gaze (althgough dead) towards anybody, and they were turned to stone.

Why did persus kill Medusa?

Sure did! Cut her head off and walk around (sometimes flew with his winged sandals) with it in his bag. Kind of gruesome but that's the way the old-folks were like in those days. Oh you asked Why! His soon to be step-father Polydectes didn't like him and sought to get rid of him by sending him on an impossible task. So when the time came for presents Perseus offered his services, (the present of the day were horses but being employed as a fisherman Perseus had no horse to give.) And Polydectes asked for the head of Medusa. And being the brash young man that he was Perseus accepted even thought he had no idea how he was going to accomplish such a deed. Now the story on Medusa is kind of complex. She was the center of a controversy that involved Poseidon (one of the big three of the Olympians). The Olympians wanted to put Medusa out of her misery and retrieve the 'dangerous' articles of power that Athena had (in a rage) bestowed upon her as a curse but to do so would be to incur the wrath of Poseidon. So the Gods (including Zeus) stayed out of it. But then along comes Perseus and the Gods thought they saw a chance working through him. Athena gave him a shiny shield and a means to accomplish his task. Hermes gave him the winged sandals so he could get around the great distances involved. And Hades (the real power behind the operation, another one of the big three Olympians) gave Perseus the Helm of Darkness.

Why did Medusa become ugly?

Medusa was once a beautiful lady, but evil. She tried to beat all the Gods and wanted to be the best at everything. No one could beat her.So the Gods planned to make Medusa pay. They made her a fearful sight, with vipers instead of hair. Anyone who saw her was turned into stone.Eventually a brave young soldier crept to Medusa in her cave. He held out a mirror and while Medusa was sleeping chopped off her head and put it in a goatskin bag. Since the head still had the ability to stun, he used it as a weapon till he gave it to Athena. The soldier's name was Perseus.Answer 2: The reason why she was punished was not that she excelled, but that she had sex with Poseidon in Athena's temple while being Athena's priestess. That made Athena very angryShe didn't have sex, she was raped.
