Jai Hind College's motto is 'I Will And I Can'.
Jai Hind College was created in 1948.
The term "Jai Hind" was popularized by Subhas Chandra Bose, a prominent Indian nationalist leader who used it as a salutation and slogan during India's struggle for independence from British colonial rule. While it is not clear if he coined the phrase, Bose is widely associated with its usage during that time.
Subhas Chandra Bose used the greeting "Jai Hind" first but archives of our freedom struggle shows that it was the famous patriot Dr. Chembakaraman Pillai, who was the first to utter the mantra "Jai Hind".
"Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" slogan was given by the former Prime Minister of India, Late Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965. It means hail the soldier and hail the farmer. Soon after Shastri took over as the Prime Minister of India after Nehru's death; India was attacked by Pakistan. At the same time there was scarcity of food grains in the country. Shastri gave the slogan "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" to enthuse the soldiers to defend India and simultaneously cheering farmers to do their best to increase the production of food grains to reduce dependence on import .It became a very popular slogan.
