Wow. Ive never seen that said before. I actually love dragonforce, and their technique of speed and agility, but that i have to admit is not everything. Sure, Herman Li is one epic guitarist. He's gotta be somewhere within atleast the top 10, but I think perhaps Guns n Roses' Slash (or they used to have Slash, Slash now plays with Velvet Revolver), and i also think Kirk Hammett must come close to the number 1 spot. Another to mention is John Petrucci of Dream Theater who is also a contender, perhaps I'd give him a No. 9, perhaps 8 spot. Here's my top 10:

Lol. Then it could vary between loads. Kirk Hammett, Herman Li, Slash, Guitarist of Iron Maiden (forgot his name), guitarist of Lynyrd Skynyrd (forgot his name as well) are among the greatest in the world. You think of Herman li, but you must also remember his band mate Sam Totman is also among the greats.

Kirk Hammet and Slash are 2 of the most overated Guitarists in the business. How could you possibly put them in front of John Petrucci?

Slash plays basic solos and slows them down, to be more dramatic so that they sound better to the average listener, who doesn't know any better. He is in no way as developed at the guitar as the ones mentioned above. Not even in the same category.

Kirk Hammet is allot more developed than Slash, but he only just touches the beginning part of their level.

Naming the guitarist from Lynyrd Skynyrd, is like showing up to a gymnastics competition and doing cartwheels and summersalts all over the floor.

Kirk Hammett is not over rated and is easily on of the best guitarist in history

Don't even classify Herman Li as a guitarist because he plays his guitar like a video game

Buckethead is one of the most innovative guitarists out there and is definitely in the top 10 or 15

John Frusciante is one of the best, he has so much feel to his playing

Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix blitz everyone - need I say more

when you say my favorite guitarist the two that come to mind is Eddie van halen and jimi Hendrix (so does dimebag darrel for some reason...) i agree that Herman li is a sad guitarist, he is computer generated. i think jimi is the best followed by Eddie
