This play " fourteen " has been written by Alice Gerstenberg[1885-1972]. She was the only child of a wealthy couple in Chicago, USA. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College[1907], and was then involved with drama and the Theatre in Chicago for many years. She was one of the original members of the Chicago Little Theatre. She started the Chicago Junior League Theatre for children and was founder, producer and president of The Playwright's Theatre of Chicago, 1922-1945. Gestenberg wrote mostly rather experimental one-act plays, many of which featured women in the lead roles. The play FOURTEEN first appeared in the February issue of Drama Magazine, 1920.
