depend on church, some denom. pastor is never head, some pastor is head with deacons, some pastor owns everything so his heirs believer or not so is hard to say best is that church is never turned into a corp. thus church is controled by all the people that are qualified to vote and by by-laws and constitution as set up at founding of church

Sometimes, but usually the church council decides who will become the next pastor. If the church has no council, then the clergy members of the church will come together and decide which one of them will be pastor.

Afterward, we kept praying for a new senior pastor to lead our church, and one year later, God answered us by choosing one Holy Spirit-filled pastor out of more than eighty applicants.
