No one "inspired" the stories in The Bible. Every one of them except where told otherwise are 100% true. Each was written by a different disciple of Jesus, the name of who can usually be found in the title of that book of the Bible (as in Peter wrote Peter, John wrote John).
The Bible is divided into two parts, the Old Testament, written in Hebrew by Jewish "wise men" and attributed to larger-than-life figures (such as Moses, for the first five books of the Bible, known as the Torah (in Hebrew) or the Pentateuch (in Greek), and the New Testament, written in Greek. Much of the New Testament is written by Paul, who was born as "Saul" (his Hebrew name) in the city of Tarsus (now in southern modern-day Turkey). Paul was educated in a Jewish household, where his parents also learned Greek (the language of merchants and traders). Thus, Paul spoke both Hebrew and Greek, and went through training as a Jewish Pharisee (Rabbi). When traveling to Damascus, Paul had his conversion experience - changing his name, after this experience, from Saul to Paul. It was after this that Paul decided to follow the teachings of Jesus. (Remember that Jesus was regarded as a blaspheming rabbi by the Jewish high priests (Caiaphas and others). Jesus lived and died before Paul could ever meet him - but Paul did meet with Jesus' disciples (who also regarded themselves as Jewish, at the time). The idea of a separate Christian religion (distinct from Judaism) came after both Jesus' and Paul's deaths - around the time of the Roman Emperor Nero. When the great fire in Rome occurred, in Nero's time, the Jewish people living in Rome at the time were not sought out for blame (as they had become more established in the city by that time). Instead, a new group of a "different" sect of Jews, which were just being identified as "Christians" were pinned with the blame for the great fire. At any rate, much of the Bible can certainly be regarded as inspired, as the stories, parables, and sayings have been instructive and uplifting to the lives of not only millions, but billions of people worldwide.

The Holy Bible was written by men of this earth. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit which is the third person of the Holy Trinity.
If the Bible is inspired - then that's how it is. We believe it is inspired - none of the authors have said that they were inspired - that came later, and from other people. If the Bible is not inspired, we wouldn't know. So, nothing would be different.... with the actual book itself What "might" be different is how people regard the book. As it is, many people don't believe the bible to be inspired - and some of them disregard the book, others of them just look on it as a book containing incredible wisdom and life-advice.

For many people, the Bible serves as a source of inspiration and guidance in their daily life. It provides moral teachings, comfort in times of trouble, and encouragement to live a virtuous life. Many also find strength, hope, and a sense of purpose through the biblical stories and teachings.
The title given to God because he inspired the Bible is "Divine Author" or "Holy Spirit." God is believed to have inspired the writers of the Bible, guiding them in the creation of the sacred text.

Is the Bible cruel with its stories full of violence and killing? Gosh, no! The stories in the Bible are just stories that had something to do with God. The Bible is not cruel. The Bible tells us what's right and wrong, and helps us through life.
