Who invented babies?

Some believe babies are a product of god, but most who take that route have read little of evolutionary trends, and believe so out of ignorance.

Babies are not an invention, rather, they are a product of evolutionary trends. The first mammals began to appear sometime around 350 million years ago, initially laying eggs.

Towards the end of the Jurassic era a group of mammals known as 'multituberculates' appeared. These were to prove to be the most successful of the primitive mammal groups with species still alive only 30 million years ago. Meaning that they had survived as a group for 130 million years. Some of the later multituberculates possessed marsupial-like bone structures which indicate that they had pouches like marsupials, suggesting a similar life cycle involving live birth of very premature young.

For a better understanding of the process of evolution and how such wonderful things came to be, I suggest reading into some of the works of Richard Dawkins. I personally enjoyed "The Greatest Show on Earth." It was a look purely on evolution. That means to religion bashing for those of you who are easily offended/weak in your faith in a sky fairy.
