Who is Lebanon's enemy?

Lebanon is a country that has been marred by war and strife during the twentieth century. Technically Lebanon does not have any specific enemies that they are engaged in armed conflict with. However, there is a great deal of dispute between the Israel and Lebanon. In 2000 Israel officially removed all troops from the southern area of Lebanon. There are very many people in Lebanon who see Israel's relations with Palestinians and thus classify Israel as their enemy. Indeed, there are those who view Syria as an enemy of Lebanon. However, this is certainly not the case of the official government. In May of 2005 Saad Hariri, a powerful government figure, stated that "we want peace with Israel." In summation, the Lebanese people are fragmented in terms of who the enemy of Lebanon is, but the government stance is that Lebanon has no official enemies that they are engaged in armed conflict with.
