There is no Member of Parliament for Cheshire East.
Before 2009 there were three Borough Councils in the area that is now Cheshire East. These boroughs were Congleton, Crewe & Nantwich and Macclesfield, and each had there own MP.
In 2009 the Boroughs were merged into one, to form Cheshire East. Despite this, however, each old borough area still retains its own MP. Within these old borough areas there are two additional constituencies - Eddisbury and Tatton.
As of today, the MPs that have Seats within the Cheshire East area are:
Fiona Bruce - Congleton
Edward Timpson - Crewe and Nantwich
Stephen O'Brien - Eddisbury
David Rutley - Macclesfield
George Osborne - Tatton
They are all Conservative Party MPs.

Stoke-on-Trent was the previous answer - it's incorrect :-) Alsager has been in Cheshire for around 1,000 years, but the fact that it has a Stoke-on-Trent postcode confuses people. Its residents have always paid council tax to Cheshire County Council, the police force is Cheshire Constabulary, the library and schools run by Cheshire County Council (now Cheshire East of course), the MP is for the Congleton constituency, the MEP covers the North-West and so on, but because people see Stoke-on-Trent on the postal address they think that supercedes all else! The Royal Mail has a lot to answer for!!
