Saint Rafqa, born Rebecca Pierrette Ar-Rayes on June 29, 1832, at Himlaya, Lebanon as Boutrossieh Ar-Rayes became a nun in the Marian Order of the Immaculate Conception at Bikfaya, taking the religious name Anissa (Agnes), and making her final vows in 1856. She died March 23, 1914, at the Convent of Saint Joseph, Grabta, Lebanon of natural causes.
