Tetsuya Nomura was born on October 8th, 1970 in Kōchi Prefecture on the island of Shikoku. Square Co. hired Nomura in the early 90's as a debugger for Final Fantasy VI. As an artist, he was later hired as the monster designer for Final Fantasy V. He made a name for himself when he replaced Yoshitaka Amano as the main character designer for Final Fantasy VII. He also worked on Final Fantasy VIII which was a very successful game for the Sony Playstation. He has designed and worked on many famous games including:
