The person At Fault is the one that ran the red light or the amber light. Rules of the road are .... if you are already out in the intersection to make a turn on a green light and the light goes amber and then possibly turns red, you are inside the law, but, if you race out into the intersection on an amber light and it turns red and you get hit, it's your fault. EXAMPLE: A vehicle screamed out into the intersection on an amber light, then suddenly the light turned red and the oncoming traffic started up and hit that vehicle then it's the person who raced out into the intersection. ∙ 17y agoThe vehicle that ran the light is The cause of the accident, BUT, The car that hit the other is at fault for that accident, EXAMPLE, If A car is stopped at A light and someone hits it from behind, then the hitter is at fault, If the hitter gets hit (because of the sudden stop) even though he went from 45mph to zero instantly, the car that hit him, The third car, is still at fault for the second accident,,,, THIS RULE still applies in your case even though the first car did not actually get in a wreck.Good luck, Jamison
