King leonidas was the king of Sparta who led the famous 300 Spartans into battle agains the Persian army at Thermopolae in around 480bc. the Persian army was one of the biggest armys the ancient world had ever seen and was thought to consist of all the worlds warriors. the odds were tremendous but king leonidas and his 300 men managed to hold the Persians off for 4 days before sacrifising them selves to Sparta.
