That is a difficult question to answer, since there are many factors to consider. For one thing, while the Constitution defines how much power the president, the congress and the supreme court are supposed to have, historically, certain presidents exerted that power a lot more than others did. Also, there were times in history where the United States pursued an isolationist policy and did not interact much with other countries, and other times when the USA was very much involved with international issues.
The answer to the question also depends on which people you ask: for example, there are people in countries that are not friendly with America (such as Iran, North Korea, or China) who may believe the United States has too much power. There are other countries that have been America's allies, who believe the balance of power is acceptable. And even within America, not everyone agrees on this question. While most Americans are proud of their country, they sometimes are opposed to what the president or the party in power has been doing-- and this is true whether it is a Democratic or a Republican majority.
Some Americans do believe that there were times when the government acted in an aggressive way (such as participating in unpopular wars or pursuing foreign policy that not everyone liked); but other Americans believe the government has been too timid and needs to be even more of a player on the world stage. Sometimes, the American government has been criticized for its foreign policies, but on the other hand, the government has also been praised for its help and support of countries in need. To sum up, this is a very complicated question, and it may not have one simple answer.
Another reason that this question is difficult to answer is the fact the the question is vague and does not provide proper context. In other words, the question should read, "[h]ow much power does the US Government have ..."
