The event that supposedly sparked the Second Intifada was Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's visit to the Dome of the Rock.

This has been proven to be false. Palestinian militants were looking for an event to begin a Second Intifada and used Sharon's visit as an excuse to begin fighting again.

What was the outcome of the intifada?

The First Intifada resulted in numerous Palestinian and Israeli deaths but culminated in the Oslo Accords, recognizing the Palestinian Right to Self-Determination. The Second Intifada had no positive outcome, only death for both Palestinians and Israelis.

Clinton had success in the Middle East when he supported Israel and who else in the declaration of peace in September 1993?

Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Clinton tried to get the two sides to work out an agreement acceptable to both. In 1993 he simply got the two sides to stop fighting and start talking. He thought he had worked out an agreement between Israel and Arafat in 1993 but it proved unacceptable to the Palestinians and the second intifada broke out.

How did the Israeli-Palestinian conflict evolve?

The conflict over Palestine predates the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The modern conflict is generally dated from the early 20th century, when Jewish immigration to Palestine increased significantly as a consequence of Zionism.

Is religion the main cause of conflict in palestine?

This question is difficult to answer for two reasons. Firstly, there are two conflicts going on in Palestine (the first is the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and the second is the Palestinian Civil War and related violence). Secondly, opinions widely vary as to what the causes of these conflicts are. It is likely that religion is a bigger player in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict than the Palestinian Civil War. A strong argument can be made that either conflict is not based on religion in any substantial way and strong arguments can also be made that religion is the defining aspect of these conflicts. In depends on more on the person than anything else. Personally, I do not find the "religion" angle terribly appealing in either case. I think the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is a ethnic nationalist conflict and that the Palestinian Civil War is a war fought for political control. Please see the Related Questions below for more information on both conflicts.

What started the attacks in 2002 between israel and palestine?

2002 is squarely inside of the Second Palestinian Intifada (2000-2005) which was a Palestinian Civilian Revolt inside of the Palestinian Territories and numerous Palestinian terrorist attacks within Israel's borders with Israeli reprisals. The Second Intifada was apparently sparked by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's visit to Dome of the Rock Shrine in 2000. However, there is evidence that a number of Palestinian Organizations like Hamas were just waiting for an event to choose as their "provocation" to launch an Intifada.

What term refers to the Palestinian revolt to shake off Israeli rule?

Resistance is the most accurate term, but the US media use a different one: terrorism. The particular revolt that the question is asking for are the Intifadas or Uprisings. The First Intifada was from 1987-1993 and the Second Intifada was from 2000-2005. Both, from a Palestinian perspective, were failures in trying to beat down the Occupation.

When did First Intifada happen?

The second Intifada started in on September 28, 2000. =)

When did the second intifada start?

The Second Intifada started on September 28, 2000. It lasted until February 8, 2005. In the end, the uprising was suppressed.

What caused the intifada?

There has been an ongoing dispute between Arabs and Jews in Israel from as early as 1921 (and to some degree even beforehand). In 1967 Israel won the six-day war, and decided to control the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank, and since then Palestinian wanted autonomy. In the following years (80's mainly), Israel has built settlements in the West Bank and Gaza strip, and, due to attacks on it, was very tough security wise. Also, Israel has had a war with Lebanese organizations and has seized some land in the south of Lebanon, Israel remained in Lebanon from 1982 up to 2000. On December 8, 1987 an Israeli trucker had an accident with 4 Palestinian killed. The Palestinian (especially in the Jabaliya camp located in Gaza), thought this to be a payback for an incident where an Israeli was stabbed, and started rioting. This is the first intifada of course. There was also a second one.

When was Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades created?

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades is a Palestinian militant group that was established in the early 2000s during the Second Intifada, a period of heightened Israeli-Palestinian violence that began in late September 2000. The group emerged as an armed offshoot of Fatah, a major Palestinian political party, and became known for conducting a series of attacks against Israeli military forces and civilian targets. While the precise date of its formation is not definitively established, it gained prominence and notoriety during the early 2000s and has since remained an influential faction within the Palestinian territories. How many children die every day in Palestine?

General AnswerOn a general basis, most days do not have any Palestinian child deaths or if such deaths occur, we are talking about incidental numbers, primarily coming from garden-variety homicide.Strict NumbersIf you strictly want numbers, from September 2000 to October 2015, B'Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization that is known in Israel for being very sympathetic to the Palestinian Cause, 1,407 Palestinian children have been killed. (This includes the Second Intifada and all three Gazan Wars.) This would average to one Palestinian child death every four days. -- Far less than you likely imagined. Compare this to Darfur, where in 2004, 180 children were dying per day as a result of Sudanese-supported Janjawid.Discussion of Palestinian Self-EndangermentIf the question is specifically asking about wartime, this entirely depends on what actions Palestinians choose to do. In all three Gazan Wars and in all three Intifadas, Israel has not targeted Palestinian children. While it is certainly the case that Israeli Army, Police, and Civilians have been responsible for the death of Palestinian Children, there is also certainly an actuality that Palestinian Militant and Terror Organizations have caused the death of Palestinian children. In fact, many more of the deaths of Palestinian children are due to either (1) Palestinian children choosing to become suicide bombers or (2) Palestinian families refusing to leave areas where Hamas has set up rocket launchers. It is very important to note that there is no intention in the Israeli Army, no memorandum, and no unofficial desire to kill Palestinian non-combatants (which includes children). The deaths of Palestinian children are regrettable and if the violence were to cease on both sides, Palestinian children would not have to worry about being embroiled in a conflict where both their country and another could end them.We should also ask, how many stabbings are occurring throughout Israel right now by Palestinians, especially younger children, who are convinced that by murdering Jews that they will get into paradise and "achieve something" for Palestine.

What conflicts does Israel have?

The conflict is rooted in the fact that its neighbors cannot stomach Israel's existence, and in the historic fact that every time they have tried to wipe it out of existence, they have been unsuccessful.

Is Morocco allied with Israel?

Morocco does not recognize Israel. King Hassan II of Morocco had a relatively progressive position towards Israel for an Arab leader, but ultimately the events of the Second Intifada made Morocco believe that it could not establish diplomatic relations with Israel. However, Moroccan foreign policy and leadership is often neutral on Israel. Although the Moroccan government clearly supports the Palestinian Cause, there is relatively less Israel demonization in Morocco than other Arab countries.
