Answer"He who has ears to hear, let him hear"The Bible's last and final (sealed) prophetic book of Revelation depicts 4 main accursed players leading up to the endtime scenario. They can be found in Revelation chapters 13, 17 and 18.

The 4 players are:

- the two personas called the beast and his false prophet

- an all-powerful nation/city which is a globally powerful commercial center depicted by a harlotrous woman

- ten nations who hate the harlotrous nation (depicted as ten horns on the beast's head) and plot to destroy her.

The endtime scenario involving these players can be summarized as follows:

The beast (aka "the Antichrist") arises out of a multicultural ocean-surrounded land. He will have great political authority and global influence, being viewed by the world as "The One". The beast fulfills his Marxist political objectives swiftly and with persuasive words within 42 months or 3.5 years, during which he will miraculously survive an assassination attempt.

The beast carries (is either subject to and/or leads) the harlotrous woman. She represents a multicultural land surrounded by oceans, making nations worldwide wealthy by buying and consuming their merchandise. She also spreads her immoralities to the whole world.

After rebounding from his assassination attempt the beast will be spiritually vindicated by a false prophet who performs signs and wonders on the beast's behalf and tells the world to worship him and make an image to him.

Since the beast may likely be "The One" who mediates a peace-treaty between Jews and Arabs so as to make it possible for Jews to rebuild their 3rd Temple, he and his false prophet will then demand that the beast's image will be setup in this temple.

The beast will further assume global economic control by requiring everyone to receive his mark (microchip?) on their forehead or right arm, and/or the number of his name.

The beast further conspires with ten nations who hate the harlot, to have them burn her with fire in "one hour" - the only way this is possible is by nuclear attack.

All the world's nations will behold this attack with great weeping and mourning, because the major consumer of their wealth has been destroyed. The destruction of the harlot is God's judgment.

After this the beast will form coalitions with China, Russia, Muslim nations (etc.) and lead armies against Israel in a direct affront to the God of Israel, who is LORD of all. That will be the battle of Armageddon, during which Jesus returns to the earth...

More accurate details about each of the players:

1) The BEAST (Rev 13 & 17:

- arises out of the sea (a place surrounded by oceans? or represented by people of all nationalities?)

- has the body of a leopard (moves swiftly and powerfully), the feet of a bear (trods the path of "the great bear" Russia's communism/marxism?), and the mouth of a lion (conquering with persuasive and boastful speech)

- carries the harlotrous woman who sits upon many waters - perhaps he carries her as someone subject/accountable to her or restricted by her. Or perhaps the beast is the one the woman depends upon, carrying and leading her to her destination.

- has the dragon's (satanic) power and authority to influence all peoples and nations globally for 42 months (or 3.5 years)

- suffers a deadly wound to one of his heads (assassination attempt?) which he miraculously survives and recovers from, causing the world to marvel at his invincibility

- is spiritually vindicated to be "The One" by the false prophet who performs satanic miracles on his behalf and then tells the world to worship the beast and make an image to him and worship it.

- has 7 heads - his globally influential seat manifesting in seven consecutive biblically significant kings/empires. The first six were likely Assyria, Egypt, Babylonia, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome. The seventh is a modern-day continuation of one of the six - likely the "Holy Roman Empire"

- has 10 horns - ten nations co-existing at the time of the beast's rule, will "give their power and authority to the beast" for the single purpose of destroying the harlotrous woman "in one hour...with fire" (nuclear attack?)

- will have economic power and control over the whole world. No one can buy or sell without having the mark of the beast (implanted microchip/Verichip?) on their forehead or right hand, or without the number of his name (symbolized by 666), or without worshiping his image

2) The FALSE PROPHET (Rev. 13):

- is depicted as a beast which arises out of the earth (Europe?), having two horns like a lamb

- calls down even fire from heaven and performs miracles in the presence of the beast

- having caught the world's attention by means of these miracles, then tells everyone to worship the beast who survived an assassination attempt and make an image to him and worship it as well

- commands that an image of the beast be made and set up in the then reconstructed 3rd Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. This is to blaspheme God and desecrate the Jews' holiest place of worship, giving an excuse to persecute Jews who refuse to worship the beast's image.

3) The HARLOT (Rev. 17 & 18)

- sits atop many waters (representing multitudes from all nationalities)

- rides upon and is carried by the beast described in 1) - perhaps he carries her as someone subject/accountable to her or restricted by her. Or perhaps the beast is the one the woman depends upon, carrying and leading her to her destination.

- is clothed in luxurious garments and wears costly jewelry - she is wealthy and lives luxuriously, importing merchandise from all nations. She is proud and believes she is invincible.

- has made nations all over the world wealthier by importing merchandise from them (including slaves)

- has the name "Mystery Babylon" and the title "mother of harlots" written upon her forehead

- she spreads her sins and immorality to the whole world, being the "mother of harlots"

- In order to have become a harlot, she must have once been faithful. Throughout the Bible a harlot is used to represent God's nation turned unfaithful to Him...

- She becomes responsible for shedding the blood of God's people and other innocents (abortions + upcoming persecution?)

- She will be destroyed by fire in "one hour" (nuclear attack?) by 10 nations who conspire with the beast to attack her

- nations will behold her destruction with great weeping and mourning as the major consumer of their merchandise is no more .

AnswerYour guess is as good as mine.

There are as many theories about the end times as there are people talking about it. I've read all the relevant scriptures and I simply do not know how this is going to go down and when things will happen.

I do know that scripture does not name a person "the antichrist." We read about the spirit of antichrist, the beast, the false prophet, "the man of sin," and so on. But an individual called the antichrist is not mentioned. Can we assume the "man of sin" is "the antichrist?"

Scripture does tell us that no one knows the times or the seasons when such things will take place. Certain conditions are set forth that seem to accompany end times. The return of the Jews to a nation of their own seems to meet some criteria, but I do not know the scripture referenced. I have read in books on the subject that the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem preceeds such events.

For me all, I know for sure is that Christ tells us to be ready. Period.

AnswerThe short answer is 'yes, the Antichrist is among us right now'.

An antichrist ['antichristos' in the Greek ] is someone who denies that Jesus is the Christ, ie the Messiah:-

1Jn 2:22 MKJV Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ?

He who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.Denying Jesus is the same as denying God the Father:-

Joh 5:23-24 KJV That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. [v. 24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me [ie God the Father], hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

An antichrist is someone who does not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh:-

1Jn 4:1-3 KJV Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [v. 2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: [v. 3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Many people have rejected Christ so there are many antichrists:-

1Jn 2:18 MKJV Little children, it is the last time. And just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have risen up, from which we know that it is the last hour. 2Jn 1:7 KJV For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

A man will come who puts himself above God Himself, calls himself God, and is worshipped as God (not 'a god'). This person, the ultimate antichrist, is not 'an antichrist' but theAntichrist:-

2Th 2:3-4 MKJV Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin [shall be revealed, the son of perdition, [v. 4] who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.

This man is not Antiochus Epiphanes because he ruled 175-164BC, and 2Thessalonians was written over 2 centuries later in about 51-52AD and does not refer to the then-existing Temple at Jerusalem.

Because that Temple at Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD it cannot be referring to that particular temple but to a future one yet to be built. This has already started: orthodox Jews in Israel are currently making the instruments, tools, and clothing and undergoing training for this future temple pending its construction. (This is possibly in return for land guarantees, but that is outside the scope of this question.)

Because of this time-frame and time is getting short the man who will be the Antichrist would have to be alive today waiting for the moment. As the writer of the above post said:-

Mat 24:44 KJV Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Mat 25:13 KJV Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

AnswerIf, by "THE antichrist", you mean the person described in Revelation as the beast whose number is 666, then no.

Revelation describes several calamitous events that supposedly would occur prior to the appearance of that particular beast, and none of those events have occurred yet. See also my answer to a related question at: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/If the Beast of Revelation before being personified as Antichrist is the 7 headed 10 horned monster then

isn\'t_the_image_of_that_beast_indeed_the_AntiChrist&updated=1&waNoAnsSet=2

AnswerThe Bible and other prophecies have in fact described the antichrist perfectly, unfortunately all our theologians have failed to read between the lines, and have rather read the all the propecies word for word.An example is where the Bible tells us:

Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

How do you calculate 666? I have tried in many ways and have come up with the following:Any which way you calculate 666 you will come up with the number 9. Take 6+6+6 18, thus 1+8= 9. End result the number 9 Let us now try 6x6x6 216, thus 2+1+6= 9. Again the end result is number 9.If you try this with the number 999 you get the same end result being the number 9.We may then accept that the number 9 is the perfect number, with the number 6 being its image.

So haw do we get to 666 you may ask? This is simple, the Bible tells us that God created us in his image therefore we must be the number 6.If we accept that there is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, that would be 3 Gods in one which would give three number 9's in one number which would be the number 999. The image of 999 would then be 666, this would tells us that the antichrist would be in Christs image, and thus he would be come in the same form as Christ, with the stigmata of Christ.

The wound on his forehead is also mentioned as the wound of the sword "which has healed" therefore he would have a wound on his forehead which would be in the form of a sword, or maybe a cross?

The antichrist is also supposed to come from the tribe of Dan, Dan translated into English would mean Judge, therefore it may mean that his surname would mean Judge. Translate judge into other languages and you should have the name of the beast, if he looks like Jesus, you should have the Antichrist.

According to the New Testament:

Contrary to popular belief, there is no one specific person referred to in Scripture as "the Antichrist," nor does it pertain strictly to "end-times prophecy."

Instead, it is identified as a spirit of evil that is in opposition to Christ. Its representatives are many, and it has been present and active in the world since the apostle John wrote of it in his epistles.

1 John 2:18 - Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

This evil spirit is one of denial:

1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

And it promotes a specific lie; that Jesus was never a flesh and blood man.

1 John 4:3 - And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Everything that is said of "antichrist" in the NT is entirely straightforward, and should not be jumbled up with the beast and false prophet of Revelation, where no such man as "the Antichrist" (nor even the word itself) appears.

There are only four references to it in the Bible, and all are in John's epistles. The final mention, which recaps the previous ones, is

2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. [Quotes from KJV]

AnswerMan does not know when Christ will return:

Matthew 25:1313 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Only God knows when this will be:-

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

This means Satan does not know either, and so has always had to have a man waiting in every generation just in case.

For example, in the 1930's and early 1940's it would have been Adolf Hitler.

Later it could have been Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Osama Bib Laden, and some say today he is President Obama. No-one knows who he will be.

In short, the Antichrist IS among us right now.

Answer

First you must understand that Anti-Christ or the fake Christ is none other than Satan himself, Paul will nail that down for your in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2. Satan is the "son of perdition" he is the only one sentenced to perdition in the whole of biblical text (Ezekiel 28:18).

Is Satan here on this earth as Anti-Christ now?

No he most certainly is not. Why? Because the sequence and order of events as laid out in prophecy, have not been met at this time.

The "Antichrist" as men like to call him, is called "the Beast" in the Bible [Rev.13].

He will be man who shall lead the prophesied "one-world goverment" [the resurrected Fourth Beast of Daniel's seventh chapter dream; the Roman Empire] during what the Bible calls "Great Tribulation" or an end time "global distress" together with "another" Beast [Rev.13:11]... a man called "the False Prophet" wielding considerable religious power, displaying miracles and "lying wonders" prophesied to occur just before Jesus returns to earth with the Kingdom of God.

The answer to the question will vary with and among people [both believers and unbelievers], depending on whether or not they believe the Great Tribulation is near... or whether they believe the Bible at all.

If the things happening in the world, now, aren't setting the stage for the prohesied Great Tribulation; "unprecedented distress the world has ever seen, or shall ever see again; and headed toward an imminent peril of life-ending, world-ending proportions" [see Matt.24:21-22] -- then, no, the Beast probably isn't here yet. And the world must look for a different generation.

If what's happening now, however, IS leading up to it... then, yes, he's alive [probably ignorant of who he is]... and waiting in the shadows of distressing global events for his moment to step forward and shine -- when the global economy and nations collapse, and global panic sets in among a world full of nuclear, biologically and chemicallly armed nations. He will step in to "save the world":

"...they [the world] worshipped the Beast [some men say, Antichrist], saying, Who is like unto the Beast? Who is able to make war with him?" (Rev.13:4)

With this description in mind, then... the question begs an "opinion" from contributors as to, in their belief or unbelief, whether or not they think "the Great Tribulation" is near. For that is the time of the "Antichrist," the biblically prophesied [Beast].

This contributor thinks the Beast is already here... somewhere.

Many look at political powers such as Obama, Bush, Clinton, but they are not the antichrist. Yes he is here now but his identity is remained to be seen although you can see his influence throughout the world the Islamic uprising, the changes within the united states, the hyper-inflation of gas, water, and food prices. The economic situations in the U.S. and Europe, These are the signs to show his influence and when we are on the verge of total world collapse he will come in proclaiming to be the saviour of the world, but don't worship or take his mark. That's his endgame to take as many souls with him to Hell he van deceive

Man does not know when Christ will return:

Matthew 25:1313 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Only God knows when this will be:-

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

This means Satan does not know either, and so has always had to have a man waiting in every generation just in case.

For example, in the 1930's and early 1940's it would have been Adolf Hitler.

In short, the Antichrist IS among us right now.

Answer:

John reveals "antichrist" to be, not so much an individual PERSON, but a "prevailing spirit in the world"... basically, "against [anti] the ways and teachings of Christ" and God.

If you step back and take an honest look at the world as it truly is with its death-dealing machines of war, its dark, bloody entertainment, rampant immorality, hatred, envy, lust, etc... it's not difficult at all to see that "prevailing spirit" in the world [of whom Satan is its god] that is utterly AGAINST JESUS CHRIST's ways and teachings... to Love one another.

Way back when John wrote his letters... he warned the church that the spirit of antichrist was AMONG THEM THEN!

"Little Children, it is the last time [end time, even then]: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, EVEN NOW ARE THERE MANY ANTICHRISTS..." (I John 2:18).

Paul spent much of his time and efforts KEEPING THIS SPIRIT OUT OF THE CHURCHES that he was commissioned by God to plant among the Gentiles. But after he died... it finally crept in. Which is what John is talking about. Understand that John is talking to the CHURCH OF GOD in his letters when he talks about "US" and "little Children" [the Children of God].

"...They [THOSE IN THE CHURCH WHO WERE TEACHING ANTI-CHRIST, pagan, heathen WAYS] WENT OUT FROM US [they left the church... or were cast out], BUT THEY WERE NOT OF US; for if they had been OF US, they would no doubt have continued WITH US: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." (verse 19)

The Living Bible (LVB) puts verse 19 this way: "These 'against-Christ' people used to be members of our churches, but they never really belonged with us or else they would have stayed. When they left us it proved that they were not of us at all."

The "SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST" has ALWAYS been among us in the world, since "that old Serpent" [Rev.12:9] first approached Eve with his "anti-God" message; that God can't be trusted, and that you'd better be depending upon yourself and your own capacity of reasoning things out [Gen.3]. It's just that in those days, Christ was not yet born in the flesh... was not yet named "the Christ." In those days, Jesus was: "I AM"... the Almighty Creator LORD God; the WORD [LOGOS, Spokesman for God]. [see John 1:3]

In those days... "the spirit of anti-CHRIST" would have been called "the spirit of anti-GOD." But, it was always here, nonetheless.

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and THIS IS THAT SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST, whereof ye have heard that IT should come; and EVEN NOW [when John wrote his letter] ALREADY IS IT IN THE WORLD." (I John 4:3)

This world is Satan's world. He is its god... and man ignorantly selected him to worship and obey over God way back in the Garden of Eden. And Satan represents EVERYTHING THAT IS CONTRARY[against; anti; opposite] TO GOD, His ways, and toward all of God's creation -- especially man, himself, who is created in God's image.

SATAN IS THAT CONTRARY SPIRIT IN THE WORLD that leads man astray... the "spirit of antichrist." The "spirit of ERROR!"

The world is rife with it!

"The man who is beginning to know God listens to us, but he who is not a Child of God does not listen to us. By this test we can distinguish the SPIRIT OF TRUTH from the SPIRIT OF ERROR. Dear Friends, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER; for Love has its origin in God, and every one who Loves has become a Child of God and is beginning to know God." (I John 4:6-7 WEY Weymouth's New Testament)

Part of the MANY teachings of the "spirit of error" in the world... is that people are looking for A MAN to appear as "THE" Antichrist; a false invention of Satan upon the slumbering spirits of men. While the Bible predicts that Satan shall give a man world-ruling power at the time of the end [see Rev.13:2] -- yet, NOWHERE does the Bible call him "THE Antichrist!"

Satan's "spirit of error" has been with man from the beginning. And while "that man" to whom Satan shall give his seat of global power and authority may very well be alive and well and living among us, today.

The "spirit of antichrist" has always prevailed [since the birth of Christ; as John attests in his letters]... and is WHY the world is the way it is today -- LIVING IN ERROR.
