Other notable pipe bands from the last few years include Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band from Northern Ireland, Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band from Scotland, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from Canada.
The most noteable record in modern pipe band competition is held by the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band who won 11 World Championships between 1979 and 1991, including 6 in a row from 1981 to 1986.

Motherwell is part of the Strathclyde Police area of operation, therefore the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band is their police pipe band.
