The first king of Kashmir is traditionally recognized as Gonanda I, who is believed to have ruled in ancient times around the 3rd century BCE. He is said to be a part of the Gonanda dynasty, which is noted in early historical texts. This dynasty marked the beginning of monarchical rule in Kashmir, setting the stage for subsequent rulers and dynasties in the region's history.

jammu and kashmir have different Constitution itself witness that jammu and kashmir was not the stae of India rather it was a kingdom ruled by a Hindu king before 1947 and the kingdom had its own constitution which after Indian occupation still exists.
After India Got freedom from British colonialism, Unfortunately India was splitted in to Pakistan and India. On that time Kashmir was not a part of India or Pakistan. When Pakistan tried to Acquire Kashmir, The King of Kashmir sought help from Indians and they made an agreement with Indian Govt. Because of this we have included Kashmir as a part of India and gave special priveleage (Article 370) to Kashmir. Before 1947, the king of Jammu and Kashmir was Maharaja Hari Singh. He ruled from 1925 until 1947 when the princely state faced the choice of joining India or Pakistan following the partition. His decision to initially remain independent led to significant political turmoil, ultimately resulting in the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India in October 1947.
It was acceeded to India by Maharaja (king) of Jammu and Kashmir when Pakistani army and militants started looting people.India flew in troops in 1947 and gained control of 2/3rd part of Jammu and kashmir..But a plebiscite was promised to kashmiri's by India but but on condition that pakistn withdraws troops and since Pakistan didnt fullfill this condition a plebiscite was never held.But according to the document signed by the last Maharaja (King)of kashmir,it's is an integral and inseperable part of India.
Sikkim Kashmir
First war took place in 1948 when border tension resulted face to face war on Kashmir border. Pakistan captured 30% of area (Pakistan held Kashmir also known as Azad Kashmir) and the war was seized after intervention of UNO and the border of that time was declared as LOC.
The Kashmir dispute was all about the control of Kashmir region by the Government of India, the Government of Pakistan and Kashmir Insurgent Group.
