The catholic church is a synthesis of the cult of the worship of the Queen of Heaven and the use of Biblical terminology. Strictly and legally speaking the catholic church is not christian in the true Biblical sense of it.

Another answer to consider:

The Church was commissioned by Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 16 where he declared Peter as the rock on which he would found His Church. It is the same Apostolic organization today as then. To address the other answer: it isn't true. Catholics don't worship Mary and no Catholic ever has as this would be blasphemy. Catholics honor or venerate Mary as Queen of Heaven just like you would honor your mother or father. Consider the fact that one really can't know Jesus very well but somehow discount or dislike his Mother in the same breath.

The person who created Catholicism (please note that "Roman Catholic" is a derogatory term that was invented in England following the protestant revolt) was Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, the second person of the Most Holy Trinity, in other words: God. He established His Church (the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church) on His apostle, Peter (St. Matthew 16:17-19:And Jesus answering, said to him [Peter]: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona:

because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.) It was born from His Side when He hung dead on the cross and was pierced by a sword and blood and water flowed out (representing the two sacraments of the Most Holy Eucharist, and Baptism). And, finally, He sent the Holy Spirit on Pentecost to guide the Church always.

Catholic AnswerThe belief of Catholicism is uncreated. The belief of Catholicism is fully shown to the world in Our Blessed Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Son of the Father from all eternity, begotten, NOT created.

Jesus Christ did not start Roman Catholicism because Catholicism is a blend of synthetic paganism (that's from what belief all their superstition comes from,) and some Scriptural teaching but the Scriptural too often takes a back seat to their paganism which is more promoted by the Vatican than their faith. Jesus was crucified by the religious leaders of the day and there is nothing new under the sun. So it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end. Jesus repudiated religious leaders and put them to shame with his wisdom and command compared to theirs and this is why they hated them. Today the RCC still stands for power as they are the richest corporation on Earth. They do not feed the poor but do the opposite of what Christ instructed of his followers to not build storehouses for their wealth but to buy Jesus' gold.

What culture created Catholicism?

No culture created Catholicism. Catholicism was created by God Almighty as He was incarnate in His Son, Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church was born from His pierced side when it was opened with a lance and blood and water flowed out - symbolizing Baptism and the Eucharist. Just as the first Adam's wife was created from his side by God, so the Church, Christ's bride, is created from His Side by God.

What does Catholicism have to offer the world for its benefit?

The "world" was created entirely out of nothing by God. Catholicism was created directly by God in order to show us all how to live, how to use this world, for what reason we were all created and how we are to live. Catholicism is the only religion in the world which guarantees an eternity of joy with God, and shows how the world makes sense, even as its worst.
