Who is the president responsible for NASA?
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, responding to the Soviet
Union's launch of Sputnik 1 in 1957, formed the National Advisory

agency overseeing the U.S. effort to explore outer space would
entail. The result was the formation of NASA in 1958.
NASA was created by the National Aeronatics and Space Adminstration Act which was passed by Congress on July 16 1958.
NASA became operational on October 1 of that year.
Dwight Eisenhower was president.
President Eisenhower signed the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Act on July 29, 1958, which officially created NASA and absorbed the previous responsible authority (National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics) in its entirety.
