Queen Matilda, who was also known as Empress Matilda, was an English queen and actually the monarch, for a short while. She fought a long war with King Steven, which finally ended when he agreed to make her son heir. Eleanor of Aquitaine was a famous Queen of England. She was the wife of King Henry II.
-- Mary's heir -- Interestingly, Queen Mary I (Mary Queen of Scots), was NOT Queen of Scots at the time of her execution. Mary's reign ended in 1567 when she was forced to abdicate in favour of her infant son, but she did not die until 1587. In the meantime, she had been replaced by her son, King James VI, who reigned over Scotland until 1625 (over England from 1603). So, James VI succeeded Mary, but at the time of Mary's death, the heir to the throne could not have been James, as he was already King, so it was instead James Hamilton, 3rd Earl of Arran who was heir in 1587. James was the great, great grandson of King James II. In 1594, James had a son, so the heirship passed to him.
Queen Victoria held her reign over England beginning in 1837, so she was the queen of England before 1845. There were quite a number of other queens before that time period.
James was born on 19 June 1566 at Edinburgh Castle, and as the eldest son of the monarch (Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland) and heir-apparent, automatically became Duke of Rothesay and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.
England doesn't have a king (England isn't even a country, it's like asking if Obama is the President of New York) It has a Queen for the moment, the Queen's Heir is Prince Charles the Prince of Wales who is married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (Note: Camilla is the Princess of Wales, but uses the Title "Duchess of Cornwall" out of respect to the late Diana, Princess of Wales Charles' first wife)

Queen Elizabeth II
The eldest male son of the King or Queen and heir apparent to the throne of the United Kingdom.
Nobody, there was only a queen.
Prince Charles (the Queen's Eldest child) is heir apparent.
Because she is also the Queen of New Zealand
Queen Elizabeth's direct heir to the British throne is her eldest son, Charles, the Prince of Wales. He has long been considered well qualified to be king because of his training and experience. Unfortunately, he could have a short reign because of his mother's longevity.
